摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the durability of a continuously variable transmission mechanism and the reliability of a speed change control in order to cope with the inconvenience in the continuously variable transmission provided with a hydraulic operation type continuously variable transmission mechanism, in particular the continuously variable transmission adopting a geared neutral system. SOLUTION: A start clutch 80 for inputting the input torque from an engine side to a continuously variable transmission mechanism by tightening is provided. A tranion for supporting a roller controlling a speed change ratio is supported by slanting in a continuously variable transmission mechanism and the oil pressure for speed increase for exerting is produced by a three layers valve 208 and the oil pressure for this speed increase is supplied to the oil pressure room 165 for the speed increase of a tranion and also supplied to a shift valve 220 as a pilot pressure. When the tranion is supported while facing to the input torque and the oil pressure for speed increase of sufficiently high oil pressure for exerting and a pilot pressure are produced, first, a line pressure is supplied to the start clutch 80 and the clutch 80 is tightened.
