PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute an exposing or a developing process for a photoresist along a predetermined pattern and to execute accurate processing of an exterior of a glass layer. SOLUTION: A glazed ceramic substrate for a thermal head is manufactured from the following processes. The first one is a process wherein a glass layer 2' is provided on at least one part of a surface of a ceramic substrate 1 and a light-blocking layer 3 is provided on the glass layer 2'. The second one is a process wherein a photoresist 8 is coated on the light-blocking layer 3 and exposing an developing of the photoresist 8 is executed to form a predetermined pattern. The third one is a process wherein a part of the region of the light- blocking layer and glass layer 2' not having the photoresist 8 is etched, and after that the photoresist 8 is removed, and a glass layer consisting of a base layer section 2a and a projection section 2b and the light-blocking layer 3 provided on the projection section 2b are formed.
