PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an apparatus and reduce a color difference by spraying a powder to an image-formed face of a recording sheet after the image is formed. SOLUTION: Since the ink uses a water solvent, a hydrophilic powder of cornstarch or starch of a particle size of 250-400 is employed. When the ink uses an oil solvent, a lipophilic powder is used. Even when recording sheets having images formed thereto are layered on a delivery tray 310, the sprayed powder intervenes between the recording sheets and therefore a next recording sheet can be layered even if an image form face is not dried yet. Printing can be carried out without human intervention and speeded up. The unmanned high-speed printing can be realized in a simple structure without increasing a size of an apparatus by using the apparatus and method for color proofing. Moreover, when the hydrophilic powder is used, the powder absorbs the ink solvent on the image formed face and accelerates drying of the ink. Accordingly, a color difference between an image immediately after formed and an image after a time has passed since the formation is reduced.
