PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always uniformly apply a proper amt. of a size to corrugatgion top parts of a core paper by an extremely simple constitution. SOLUTION: A sizing roll 36 for applying a size to the corrugation top parts of a core paper 16 is moved so as to approach a second stage roll 14 and the position where the sizing roll 36 is brought into contact with the second stage roll 14 through the core paper 16 is detected to be set to the origin. The sizing roll 36 is moved so as to be spaced apart from the origin by predetermined quantity with respect to the second stage roll 14 to be positioned at a sizing position with respect to the core paper 16.
