ANTI-CHALKING AGENT FOR VINYL CHLORIDE RESIN AND VINYL CHLORIDE RESIN COMPOSITION WITH EXCELLENT WEATHERABILITY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject high-performance anti-chalking agent, and to obtain the other subject resin composition. SOLUTION: This anti-chalking agent for vinyl chloride resins consists of such inorganic powder that the surface of inorganic particles such as of CaCO3 or MgO is dottedly coated with metallic copper by physical vapor deposition method or the like in such a manner as to be <50 nm (pref. <=40 nm) in the crystallite diameter calculated using Scherrer's formula based on the half-width of the X-ray diffraction peak for the metallic copper and the amount of the metallic copper coated is 0.1-1.5 (pref. 0.1-1.0) wt.%. The vinyl chloride resin composition with excellent weatherability is obtained by compounding 100 pts.wt. of a vinyl chloride resin with 0.01-3.0 pts.wt. (pref. 0.01-1.0 pt.wt.) of the above inorganic powder.
