PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize greatly the indication value of a gas analyzer for a long time by introducing a sample gas to a water elimination means for dehumidifying, and by reducing the content of water to a specific value or less. SOLUTION: A sample gas being introduced to a gas analyzer, for example, for controlling the operation of various kinds of devices is pretreated by a device with a water elimination means 5 used as a drain separator or the like. The sample gas passes through a bubbler 7 with washing liquid 8, a drain separator 10, or the like, eliminates minute impurities or the like by a filtering means 2, and is cooled and dehumidified to temperature being lower than ambient temperature by approximately 10-15 deg.C by a cooling means 3. The treated gas is further introduced to the water elimination means 5, contained water is eliminated as a condensation water, and the content of water is set to 12,000 ppm or less. After that, the gas is introduced to a gas analyzer. As the water elimination means 5, the filtering means and a cooling means may be used in addition to a drain separation means.
