PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict the generation of noise and vibration to the minimum by starting a compressor with a frequency within a specified range, and operating the compressor at the set rotating speed. SOLUTION: Startup rotating speed is discriminated by a program built in a micro computer 10. The micro computer 10 controls a PAL part 2 and an inverter 3 through a PWM pulse part 15 and a rectifying part 12 inside the micro computer 10, and applies the frequency at 45-52 Hz to a compressor motor 1 so as to start the compressor motor 1. At this stage, the compressor motor 1 is operated at the lowest rotating speed. The rotating speed at 2880 RPM is a rotating speed of the compressor motor 1 corresponding to the starting frequency at 45-52 Hz, and the lowest rotating speed is set at 2200 RPM. When frequency is applied to the compressor motor 1 and starting is concluded, generation of noise and vibration by a sudden change of the rotating speed in the case of changing the speed from the operating lowest rotating speed to the highest rotating speed and in the opposite case can be restricted to the minimum.
