PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously twist core strands and side strands with small spaces among the strands so that the rubber can intrude inside of a steel code, by using a specific number of strands among a specific number of strands of a specific diameter as core strands, and twisting the core strands in a state that they are unevenly unstraight in the longitudinal direction for unevenly changing the twist angles of core. SOLUTION: 9-14 pieces of strands of 0.10-0.40 mm diameter (d) are used, 2-4 pieces are used as the core strands 1, and they are twisted simultaneously with the remaining as the side strands 2. The core strands 1 are respectively twisted in a state that they are unevenly unstrainght in the longitudinal direction for unevenly changing the twist anglesα1,α2 of the core. Whereby the twist angleαof the side strands 2 becomes different from the twist anglesα1,α2 of the core strands at all times when observed from the cross section, and the core strands 1 and the side strands 2 are linearly contacted with one another at all times. Whereby a space S1 exists between the side strand 2 and the core strand 1, and further as a side layer core diameter D of the twisted side strands 2 is approximately complete round and large, the a space S2 also exists between the side strands 2.
