PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent skipping of vanes to the utmost and also to feed oil into the space inside rollers, even in a compressor using a carbon dioxide as a refrigerant. SOLUTION: A rotary type compressor 1 is equipped with cylinders 14 and 15 having the opposite end openings closed up, rollers 18 and 19 fitted to a rotating shaft 4 and made to rotate inside these cylinders 14 and 15 by this rotating shaft 4, vanes 20 coming into contact with these rollers 18 and 19 so as to form compression space, and a closed vessel 2 holding a rotary compression element 5 composed of these cylinders 14 and 15, rollers 18 and 19 and vanes 20. A carbon dioxide is used as a refrigerant. A pressure chamber 60 into which the refrigerant compressed in the compression space is discharged, a vane backside chamber 47 formed on the back side of the vanes 20, a pressure regulating passage 49 making this vane backside chamber 47 communicate with the pressure chamber 60, space 28 inside the rollers positioned in the vicinity of the rollers 18 and 19 and the rotating shaft 4, and a communication path 50 making the vane backside chamber 47 communicate with the space 28 inside the rollers, are further provided.
