PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bidirectionally operational catheter. SOLUTION: A bidirectionally operational catheter 10 is composed of a catheter body 12, a tip portion and a control handle 16. A base end of the tip portion is fixed to a tip portion of the catheter body 12. The control handle 16 is attached at its tip portion to a base end portion of the catheter body 12, and is composed of a movable member. The movable member is selectively and detachably engaged with one of base-end-side pistons so as to prevent the engaged base-end-side piston from sliding against a housing while allowing the outer base-end-side piston in a non-engaged state to slide against the housing. When the housing moves against a tip-side piston and the catheter body 12 towards the base end side, the engaged base-end-side piston moves towards the base end side against the tip-side piston and the catheter body 12. The catheter further comprises a pair of tensile wires each having a base end portion and a tip portion. |
