PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system, especially a display back face lighting system capable of continuously changing brightness. SOLUTION: This lighting system has a light scattering plate 1 having a light transmitting capability whose at least one side edge is linearly extended; and lamps 2, 3 arranged at the linearly extending edges of the light scattering plate 1 and fixed to the edges with holders 6, 7. The lamps 2, 3 are an aperture lamp having a cylindrical lamp container, and supported within the holders 6, 7 so as to be capable of rotating on the cylinder central axis. By rotating the aperture lamps 2, 3 on the central axis, the amount of light incoming to the light scattering plate 1 is controlled. |
