PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly travel by an auxiliary driving force and to sufficiently provide the auxiliary driving force as necessary by providing a control circuit with a delay means delaying the output of a motor driving force according to the extent of a manual torque. SOLUTION: When the pedal of a motor assist bicycle is depressed by a user, the treading force is transmitted to a driving wheel via chain. A microcomputer 17 amplifies the output signal of a deprossing force sensor 11c and an output signal of a current sensor 22 respectively so as to calculate a major driving force (TM) and an auxiliary driving force (TL), changes the duty ratio of a switching element 21 according to their difference, and controls the output of a motor so as to make the ratio of TM to TL constant. The microcomputer 17 controls the motor 14 by a delay means so as to delay the output of the auxiliary driving force in relation to the major driving force.
