PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a vessel preventing the temp.-dropping of molten metal and the deformation and the crack of an iron shell caused by heat load by lining a heat-insulating material between a permanent brick and the iron shell and forming as a four-layer structure of wear brick, permanent brick, heat- insulating material and iron shell from the inside of the vessel, in order. SOLUTION: The heat-insulating material in the molten metal vessel is desirable to be either one of the material having 3-30 mm thickness and 5-50 nm fine hole or the material having 0.2-0.4 sp. gr. and the specific range of thermal conductivity. As the wear brick, a material of Al2O3-C, Al2O3-SiC-C, Al2O3-MgO- C, etc., is used and as the permanent brick, a material of burnt MgO brick, etc., is used. As the heat-insulating material, e.g. a material of 3 mm thickness, 50 nm fine hole, 0.35 sp. gr. and the thermal conductivity of 0.025 W/m.K at 200 deg.C and 0.060 W/m.K at 800 deg.C, is used. The structure applying the heat- insulating material between the permanent brick and the iron shell can obtain the low atomospheric temp. by using this heat-insulating material and excellent heat-insulating effect over for the long term.
|
