PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera has both functions of an electronic image pickup device having an electronic imaging device for converting an object image into an electronic signal and a film photographing device for imprinting the object image to a silver halide film, and which can surely inform a photographing operator of the occurrence of fault in the electronic image pickup device or the film photographing device when it happens. SOLUTION: Relating to the camera in which the electronic image pickup device and the film photographing device are integrally constituted, when a film can not be exposed because of the abnormality (fault) of the film photographing device it is displayed on an LCD monitor 24; the image is picked up on an electronic image pickup device side, but the fetched image is inhibited from being displayed on the LCD monitor 24, and the photographer is informed of the abnormality.
