PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a flat plate type ice from breakage by receiving the flat plate type ice released from respective ice making chambers of an ice making machine by fusing with a downwardly moving ice pan without giving any big shock, in a cell type ice making machine. SOLUTION: The downward movement of a water pan 22 in an ice making machine is constituted of a first stage parallel movement moving the water pan 22 in parallel to an ice making vessel 21 downward under horizontal condition, and a second stage of slanting motion pivoting the fore end side of the water pan 22 downward about the supporting point at the rear end side of the water pan 22. In this case, the ice 11 is received by the water pan 22 under the horizontal condition (the first stage) to mitigate a shock, while the received ice 11 is transferred by gliding the same on the surface of the water pan 22 through the slanting motion (the second stage) of the water pan 22.
