PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce excessive storage of oil mist in a crank chamber the interior of a valve system chamber through a blowby gas passage. SOLUTION: A cylinder head 5 and a head cover 6 are arranged, in this order, to the side of a cylinder block 3 with a cylinder block 3 horizontally protruding from a crank chamber 2. A blowby gas passage 30 is arranged throughout the cylinder block 3 and the cylinder head 5 such that a valve system chamber 7 formed in the head cover 6 and the crank chamber 2 are intercommunicated through the blowby gas passage 30. Further, the blowby gas passage 30 is inclined so that the valve system chamber 7 side is situated in a level higher than that of the crank chamber 2 side.
