PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply paints of a plurality of colors by one process and to produce parallel multicolor coated metal plates at a low cost when performing parallel multicolor coating to the metal plates. SOLUTION: A space for storing paints P formed between a feeding roll 4 and a doctor roll 5 is divided into individual storage parts 71 to 78 whose number is the same as that of coating means in a state in which they are independent to each other. For one coater unit, the paints P of different colors can be stored in each of the individual storage parts 71 to 78, and these paints P can be fed to the individual coating means at the same time. In this way, by one process having a single coater unit, the paints P of a plurality of colors can be applied at the same time, and metal plates B to which parallel multicolor coating is applied can be produced at a low cost.
