PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane filter capable of completely regenerating a separation membrane without depending on a chemical washing, etc., and capable of filtering even during regeneration of the membrane. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a separation membrane module 4 immersed in a tank and consisting of an electrode and a separation membrane surrounding the electrode, a separation membrane module 5 immersed in a tank and consisting of other electrode and a separation membrane surrounding the electrode, a direct-current power source 10 connected to both electrodes and applying direct-current voltages having different polarities from each other to the both electrodes and pumps 14 and 15 provided respectively at the separation membrane module 4 and the separation membrane module 5 and executing membrane filtration by vacuum to the separation membrane module whose electrode is a cathode and executing membrane regeneration by pressurizing to the separation membrane module whose electrode is an anode.
