A means for preventing needlestick injuries from needles (2), scalpels or other sharp medical instruments comprises a laminar member (1) foldable round the needle (2). The member (1) comprises a substantially waterproof backing (4), to which is applied an adhesive layer (5) and a removable layer (6) protecting the adhesive layer (5). When the removable layer (6) is removed, the needle (2) is placed on the adhesive layer (5) and the member (1) is folded round the needle (2), so that the adhesive layer (5) sticks to itself and to the needle (2) to enclose and hold the needle (2). |
