PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a radiation detector and a radiation monitor which comply with measurement in a wide measuring range, and curtails the costs of the detector and a sampler. SOLUTION: A first sensor 1 having a large sensitive area and a second sensor 2 having a small sensitive area are arranged in a detector 3, and the detector 3 is arranged in a sampler where a fluid being a measuring object flows. The ratio of sensitive areas of the first sensor 1 to the second sensor 2 is 104. And a counting rate measured by the first measuring apparatus 5 is displayed, when the measuring object has a low-concentration radiation, and a counting rate measured by the second measuring apparatus 7 is displayed. in the case of a high-concentration radiation. A wide measuring range becomes feasible, by setting a measuring range corresponding to the first sensor 1 and a measuring range corresponding to the second sensor 2 properly, and switching over measuring ranges.
