PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stop a wire manufacturing device after performing the production according to a set production line length to maximize a yield by starting deceleration before the set production line length is achieved, and by decelerating and stopping the device while correcting the inclination of the deceleration such that the produced length at the time of stop equals the production line length. SOLUTION: An extruder 1 covers the outside surface of a conductor 3 introduced into an extruding head 2 with a resin. Multiple winders 9 wind a covered wire 5 on their drums through a cooling water tank 4, a pulling machine 6, a winding accumulator 7 and a winding pinch caterpillar 8. Deceleration is started by the winding pinch caterpillar 8 before the length of the covered wire 5 reaches a set production line length, and the production line is decelerated and stopped while correcting the inclination of the deceleration such that the produced length at the time of stop equals the production line length. At that time, the length of the product includes a length from the extruding head 2 to the winder 9. Then, the next production is started and the drum is changed to another one when the winder 9 has taken up the portion of the preceding production (from the extruding head 2 to the winder 9).
