PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a driving device to drive with a simpler structure by pressing a lock shaft through a speed reducing gear by the rotation of a driving shaft so that it engages with an operating means. SOLUTION: When a handle assembly 3 is rotated, the speed reducing gear 7 rotates by the rotation of the driving shaft 4 while reduced in speed to release the abutting part 81c of the 1st pin 81 of the lock shaft 8 and the 1st cam projection 71 of the speed reducing gear 7 from abutting against each other and the abutting part comes into contact with the reverse surface 73 of the speed reducing gear 7, so that the lock shaft 8 will be at a disengagement position with the urging force of a spring. The lock shaft 8 is held at the disengagement position with the urging force of the spring thereafter even when a reset button is not operated. When the movable panel of a sunroof device opens a vehicle roof through the unidirectional rotating operation of the handle assembly 3, the 2nd cam projection of the speed reducing gear 7 abuts against the abutting part 82c of the 1st pin 81 of the lock shaft 8, which is pressed down against the urging force of the spring, and the 2nd pin 82 of the lock shaft 8 engages with a recessed part 35 of a handle main body 31, so that the handle assembly 3 is locked.
