PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read data out normally even when magnetic disk drives are changed. SOLUTION: A data control part 12 after generating parity by dividing data inputted through a host interface control part 11 according to a write command adds number information to the divided data and parity in order by its internal number adding process part 13 and distribute them to HDDs(hard disk drive) 15-0 to 3 through HDD control parts 14-0 to 3 to write them. According to a read command, the divided data and parity with the added number information which are read out of the HDDs 15-0 to 3 are fetched through the HDD control parts 14-0 to 3 and the individual numbers are collated to correct their order, and then the number information is deleted, a parity check is made, and the divided data are reconstituted and sent out to a host computer 11 through a host interface control part 12.
