The spectroscopy frequency sum generator has an OPO high power laser providing pulse trains of around 15 microsecond length (1) and with a repetition rate (2) around 62 MHz, with the train repeated at 200 Hz intervals. The beam is applied to a surface profile and filtered on return using a converging lens focal plane ablated by the laser beam being filtered.
