摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit effective exposure and stable formation of guide grooves and pits by specifying the transmittance of an intermediate layer to an exposure beam to a specific value or above. SOLUTION: The transmittance of the intermediate layer to the exposure beam is specified to >=9%. The front surface of a glass substrate 1 having a precisely polished surface is subjected to an UV/O3 treatment and an i-line type photoresist is applied by a spin coating method thereon in such a manner that photoresist is made uniform within the surface, by which a photoresist layer 2 is formed. The intermediate layer 3 is formed as a film by spin coating a water-soluble resin, such as, for example, polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl pyrrolidone or methyl cellulose and is baked. A photobleachable layer 4 is formed on the intermediate layer 3 by applying a material prepd. by dissolving a binder component and a photochromic material which is the photobleachable material into an organic solvent by spin coating. Master disk exposure is executed by condensing a laser beam 6 to the glass substrate 1 of the manufactured master disk 5. After the photobleachable layer 4 is removed by the organic solvent, the intermediate layer 3 is removed and the optical master disk 8 is formed.
