PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sensor for detecting chemical substances which is superior in responsivity, hard to cause an error in detection and to lower the accuracy, compact in size and superior in reliability. SOLUTION: The potential between a detection electrode 15 having an organic polymer film 19 and a reference electrode 16 is measured via an electrolyte solution 13 in a solution bath 12, so that chemical substances in a gas phase 14 can be detected by the chemical substance-detecting sensor. In this case, an organic polymer film 19 is provided with a water-holding ability and the detection electrode 15 with the organic polymer film 19 is set in the vicinity of a boundary face between a liquid phase of the electrolyte solution 13 and the gas phase 14 including the chemical substances. |
