PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To diversify the allocation of rhythm tone kinds to plural sound source channels, thereby improving playing performance. SOLUTION: A tone generator(TG) 30 has eight sound source channels. Plural rhythm patterns varying in the number of rhythm tone kinds like, for example, 9, 16, are stored in a memory 18. Rhythm tone kind assignment information is allocated to the suitable sound source channels within the TG 30 according to the rhythm patterns corresponding to the rhythm kinds selected by a rhythm selection operation, by which automatic rhythm playing is executed. The automatic rhythm playing may be executed by the number of the rhythm tone kinds suitable for each of the rhythm kinds. When the rhythm playing operating elements more than eight are selectively operated during such automatic rhythm playing, the rhythm tone kind assignment information corresponding to the rhythm playing operating elements relating to the operation is allocated to the suitable sound source channels within the TG 30, by which manual rhythm playing is executed. |
