PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compact single plate type device having the high utilization efficiency of illuminating light and uniform illumination distribution and realizing high-quality display where color mixture is not caused by color- separating and arraying plural secondary light source pictures similarly to the array of plural color pixels of a picture display element. SOLUTION: The array of plural secondary light source pictures color- separated to red, green and blue is set to be similar to that of plural color pixels of the picture display element including the colors thereof. A lens constituting a micro-lens array picture-forms the array of the secondary light source pictures and makes the condensing spot of luminous flux forming the color- separated secondary light source picture at the aperture part of each pixel of the picture display element. Thus, the picture having no absorption loss by a color filter is obtained. The luminous flux forming the secondary light source picture by a 1st fly-eye lens 4 is windened to be superposed on the entire screen of the picture display element by the action of a 2nd fly-eye lens 5, so that the illuminance distribution of the projected picture is uniformized. |
