PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a printed circuit board tester have a simple configuration in a part except a tester main body by providing a selecting unit capable of forming a BS chain at every BS IC mounting board having a different number of mounting BSICs and mounting positions with an adapter between IC mounting boards. SOLUTION: The adapter 19 is provided between the tester main body 18 and a BSIC mounting circuit board, and selecting units 20, 21 are provided at every BSIC mounting board having a different number of mounting BSICs and mounting positions. Connecting pins of the adapter 19 are connected to a TDI pin for external connection of the body 18, a TDO pin, and a plurality of TDI pins and TDO pins for external connections of the BSIC mounting boards. When the units 20, 21 are connected to the adapter 19, a BS chain using the BSIC to be mounted on the BSIC mounting boards is connected to be formed. The units 20, 21 are selectively used to be able to test the BS.
