PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide radio communication equipment capable of efficiently performing highly reliable communication through a public communication channel even in the case that a data terminal is connected with a terminal adapter by a cable and radio. SOLUTION: The data terminal 103 is connected to a radio communication terminal 101 by the cable and the data terminal 106 is connected through a PHS(personal handy phone system) telephone set 104 and a PIAFS(PHS internet access forum standard) card 105 by the radio. Then, in the radio communication terminal 101, the presence/absence of the housing of the data terminal by the cable or the radio is detected and the format of data received from a digital public line is converted by the detected result.
