Fabrication of elements for decorative ironwork comprises cutting ironwork elements from an iron sheet with a thickness of between 8 and 30 mm using a machine equipped with a mobile blowtorch with a narrow flame of which the movements are automated by an electronic system in association with an optical sensor capable of following the edges of a cardboard model of the elements to be fabricated. The elements (3, 4) are assembled with some posts (5) or horizontal bars (6) to produce articles normally produced by forged iron.
