PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain an incremental CG even with a mark & sweep method, to omit the compaction and also to improve the availability of a memory, to decrease the fragments in consideration of the lifetime of each object and to reduce the waste of power of a CPU. SOLUTION: A means is prepared to incrementally perform a garbage collection thread which detects an object that is not referred to by any object in a heap area of a memory and releases the memory area of the detected object as a memory allocatable free area of another object together with a means which performs the scheduling to execute in time division each thread according to its priority and a means which alternately changes the priority of the garbage collection thread in both states where the priority is higher and lower than the priorities of other threads.
