PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and surely perform reserved video recording without recording erroneously, when reserving video recording the program of the same broadcasting with the same tuner in the combination with a video recording reserving function built-in tuner and a VTR in digital broadcasting or the like and automatically recording with the VTR. SOLUTION: Because muting designated to a video signal is applied only around the start of a program reserved by a tuner 1 when video recording is reserved by the tuner 1 and automatic video recording is reserved by a VTR 11, the VTR 11 is switched to a recording mode in an automatic video recording standby state, when the designated mute comes into the video signal. Because a signal is not outputted from the tuner 1 in the same manner as the conventional manner when the program is over, the VTR 11 detects that the video signal does not exist any more according to synchronous discrimination to be in a power off state.
