The bleed for a motor vehicle hydraulic reservoir (1) has a bleed pipe (6) extending to the exterior of the reservoir and connected to it. The bleed pipe is connected to the reservoir at its lowest point and extended into the reservoir by a flexible pipe (8) which has a float (9) at its free end.
