PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a panel computer which can serve as an inexpensive display device as well as a panel computer itself that works based on the operation of a personal computer OS(operating system). SOLUTION: A disk OS of a panel computer is mounted on an external storage such as an HDD 109 and a display device OS is mounted on an internal ROM (program memory 105). Then the disk OS of the panel computer is detected, the disk OS is executed. If the disk OS of the panel computer is not detected due to non-connection of the external storage, etc., the display device OS stored in the internal ROM is executed.
