PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a mounting density of optical device, reducing the number of parts, and improve reliability of connection in an optical connector of a surface mounting optical device. SOLUTION: Ferrules 28, 30 mounted at the ends of optical fiber are inserted into a sleeve 32 so as to be abutted on each other, and hooked by the hooks 40 of a clip 34 behind the ferrule rings 38, 52 while pressing on the falling prevention clip 34. Since a worker does not touch a printed board 22 by finger at the time of coupling connectors, this eliminates the need for securing a room space for working on both sides of an optical device and improves a mounting density of optical device.
