OPTICAL CONNECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector which is formed so as to allow the curtailment of the man-hours for ferrule fabrication and has a coupling structure composed of the ferrule and a flanged cylindrical body. SOLUTION: This optical connector has the coupling structure consisting of the ferrule 2 which has a fiber insertion hole 4 for insertion of an optical fiber having an optical axis 7 and the flange cylindrical body 3 which is disposed along the optical axis 7 on the base end 2a side of the ferrule 2 and likewise has a fiber introducing hole 9 for introducing the optical fiber having the optical axis 7. The fiber insertion hole 4 of approximately the same bore is formed in the ferrule 2 from the base end 2a toward the front end 2b. The flanged cylindrical body 3 is formed with-fiber guide parts 10, 20 and 30 of the bore expanding toward the direction parting from the ferrule 2 are formed at the end of the fiber introducing hole 9 on the side communicating with the fiber insertion hole 4 of the ferrule 2.
