摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device facilitating and ensuring the specification of pixel addresses in spite of the increase in the number of display pixels. SOLUTION: Each of pixels 60 constituting a polysilicon type TFT active matrix liq. crystal display device has auxiliary capacitance supplementing liq. crystal capacitance. On an address (row address) in a gate wiring side of the pixel 60 encoded patterns 22a coded for recognizing it are arranged at four corners other than display area R of the pixel 60 by using a part of a counter electrode (opaque film) 22 forming one electrode of the auxiliary capacitance. And on an address (column address) in a source wiring side of the pixel 60, encoded patterns 4a coded for recognizing it are formed at four corners other than the display area R of the pixel 60 with using a part of a liq. crystal display electrode (transparent film) 4.</p>
