PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method and device for displaying charge capacity while charging an accessory battery of a portable telephone or the like. SOLUTION: A device for displaying charge capacity is composed of a voltage-monitoring part 10 that reads the voltage value of a battery, a display part 12 that displays the charge capacity or the like, a clock function part 16 that has a memory 14 for storing the relation data between charge time and the charge capacity and counts time, a control part 18 that controls the entire device, a battery 20 that is attached to the device, and a charger 22 that is attached to the device and can charge the battery. The device for displaying charge capacity stores charge data that is the relation data between the charge time and the charge capacity into the memory in a portable telephone in advance, thus acquiring the optimum charge data according to the voltage value of the battery when the charge is started, and continuously displaying the charge capacity during charging.
