PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a trouble from being caused by discriminating whether or not supplied paper is a specified paper without causing the increase of power consumption before an image is fixed on the paper. SOLUTION: Sensors A and B which detect a detection object part when it is opaque or has high reflectance and do not detect it when it is transparent or has low reflectance, are arranged in the width direction of a paper at a position facing the carrying path of the paper. A specified paper S1 is provided with a part Sa1 which is detected by the sensor and a part Sa2 which is not detected by the sensor at positions opposed to the sensors A and B to discriminate whether or not the paper is the specified paper according to the sate of the existence of detection signals from the sensors A and B. The device is provided with a 1st mode in which the paper is carried at a comparatively high speed and a 2nd mode in which it is carried at a comparatively low speed, and is actuated in the 1st mode in the case of setting that the paper is the specified paper by a paper kind setting means set by a user whether or not the paper is a specified paper and in the case of discriminating that the paper is not the specified paper from the actual paper discriminated result. |
