PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture information processing device and method which can read surely information expressed in a specific manuscript and can reflect to processing of the next manuscript even when the manuscript is carried in an inclined state. SOLUTION: This device is provided with detecting sensors S1, S2 detecting whether a manuscript is a mark-sheet manuscript having control information or not, initially in a transmission path, when a manuscript placed on a manuscript placing mount is transported to a manuscript reading position and read, and the prescribed picture processing is performed, further when a manuscript is transported to a manuscript reading position by a transportation motor M3 and the like. And oblique motion quantity of a manuscript is detected from a result detected by detecting sensors S1, S2 in an oblique motion quantity detecting section 220, a CPU 210 controls a mark-sheet detecting section 221 so that after a sensor detecting signal is compensated in accordance with oblique motion quantity detected by the oblique motion quantity detecting section 220, it is discriminated whether the transported manuscript is the prescribed mark- sheet manuscript or not, and a mark-sheet manuscript is surely discriminated. |
