PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lens capable of performing focusing within a guarantee range in any state of zoom adjustment and selecting and deciding a visual field without anxiety by providing an engaging member in either of a focus operation ring or a straight advance barrel and an engaging part where the moving allowable range of the engaging member is changed in the optical axis direction in the other. SOLUTION: An engaging member is provided in either of a focus operation ring 20 or a straight advance barrel 40 and an engaging part where the moving allowable range of the engaging member is changed in the optical axis direction is provided in the other. In this zoom lens capable of varying a focus rotational angle, the ring 20 and the barrel 40 are relatively displaced in the optical axis direction by zooming. In such a case, the relative rotational angles of the ring 20 and the barrel 40 are restricted in a specified range by the engaging part provided in either of the ring 20 or the barrel 40 and the ring 20 is not displaced over an appropriate focusing range in any zooming state.
