PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector permitting reduction in assembly man-hour, and simple and inexpensive assembly. SOLUTION: In an optical connector C having a ferrule 1 with built-in optical fiber 3, the optical connector C has such a structure as has a recessed part 50 for projecting the optical fiber formed on the front face 1a of the ferrule 1, and the optical fiber 3 is inserted into an optical fiber positioning hole 4 extending into the ferrule 1 from an optical fiber projecting port 5 arranged on the bottom 50b of the recessed part 50, and the tip end face 3a of the optical fiber 3 is buried in the recessed part 50.
