PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To emit the light emitted from a knob at an angle by which only the direct light enters into the visual field of a driver so as to prevent the reflected light from entering into the eyes of the driver or the like and troubling him or her by forming an opening part at a part of the knob of a switch and by arranging, at the opening part, a tip part of an optical member for guiding light from a light source corresponding to an operating state of the switch to emit the light only in a desired direction. SOLUTION: In an optical member, a prism 31 is arranged at a light emitting side end part, an optical path 32 for effectively guiding the light to the prism 31 is arranged between the prism 31 and a light source, and a light source side end part 33 is so formed into an angle and a curved surface corresponding to the position and size of the light source as to effectively converge the light and to effectively guide the light rays in the optical path 32. A projecting tip part 34 having a small dimension in both width and height is formed at the tip part of the prism 31, and the projecting tip part 34 is fitted to the opening part of the knob. Thereby, the light from the prism 31 is formed into two lines of optical flux divided rightward and leftward and emitted, so that it can be concurrently used for both an automobile with a right-hand drive and one with a left-hand drive.
