PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To forcibly restrict reproduction action for operation being made by a person other than a manager by recording classification information for indicating the features of the scene of image data into a storage means being provided in the case of a storage medium, and by restricting the reproduction action according to the read classification information. SOLUTION: A cassette label 3 where a memory IC2 is incorporated is applied onto the back cover of a video cassette tape 1, and non-contact communication is performed by short-distance electromagnetic connection in the case of insertion into a VTR. For image classification information being stored into the memory IC2, the codes A0, A1, and A2 are set to sexual images, codes B1, B2, and B3 are set to violent images, and codes C1, C2, and C2 are set to horror images. In this case, the codes with a smaller figure indicate extreme scenes. At the VTR side, when codes A0, B0, and C0 are read, the video cassette tape 1 is forcibly unloaded. In the case of A1, B1, and C1, reproduction is made merely for a short time. In the case of A2, B2, and C2, only the sound is reproduced.
