PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ocular having such excellent optical performance that a distance from the image position of an image-forming optical system to an eye point is >=100 mm and field number is large up to >=18 by constituting so that the ocular may satisfy a specified condition. SOLUTION: This ocular is constituted of a 1st lens group G1 having negative refractive power as a whole and a 2nd lens group G2 having positive refractive power as a whole in order from a light incident side, and an intermediate image is formed at a position I between the 1st and the 2nd lens groups G1 and G2. The 1st lens group G1 is constituted of a positive bonded lens G11 and a negative lens G12 and the 2nd lens group G2 is constituted of a positive single lens having gentle curvature on the light incident side, a negative bonded meniscus lens and the positive single lens having the gentle curvature on an eye side. In the ocular, the conditions d>=100 mm and 19 mm<f<32 mm are satisfied. In the expression, (d) means a distance from the position of an image formed only by the image-forming optical system to the eye point of the ocular and (f) means the focal distance of the ocular.
