PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of efficiently pre-formatting an optical disk using land/groove recording and performing recording/ reproducing in an optical disk including the pre-formatted optical disk. SOLUTION: Prepit areas 10 and 11 including address information formed in a boundary part between a land area Land and a groove area Groove adjacent to each other and disposed in a header area are arranged in every other boundary parts 1, and the prepit areas 10 and 11 are shifted in the circumferential direction of an optical disk so as to prevent the alignment of particular bits of information in the adjacent prepit areas in the radial direction of the optical disk. When an optical beam is scanned with respect to the prepit areas, the influence of crosstalk from the adjacent prepit area is suppressed, and even if defocusing occurs in the optical beam, the reading of the address information in the prepit areas is drastically reduced. |
