PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover radioactive materials having high activity by reliably preventing ignition. SOLUTION: A radioactive material recovery device device is used for recovering radioactive materials having high activity. The device has a primary containing vessel 18 and a secondary containing vessel 19 charged with water 20, containing means such as a lower partition wall 5 wherein each containing vessel 18 and 19 is respectively contained in a primary containing room 16 and a secondary containing room 17, a blower 7 exhausting out the air in the secondary containing room 17, a first ventilation pipe 13 of which intake 13a is positioned outside the containing means so as to suck in radioactive materials together with the external air and of which exhaust outlet 13b is positioned upward the primary containing vessel 18 in the primary containing room 16, and a second ventilation pipe 14 of which inlet 14a is positioned upward the primary containing vessel 18 in the primary containing room 16 so as to suck in the air in the primary containing room 16 and of which exhaust outlet 14b connected to the intake 14a is positioned in water 20 of the secondary containing vessel 19 in the secondary containing room 17.
