PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building monitoring system, capable of improving wiring efficiency when constructing a new system and simplifying wiring extension when expanding the system. SOLUTION: This system, which is provided with plural camera control units 2a to 2m which are video transmitters and a system control unit 1 which is a central controller, monitors various places in a building by means of images. The prescribed number of cameras 3aαto 3aδand 3mαto 3mδare wired/ connected in parallel to each camera control unit 2a to 2m, between-each camera control units 2a to 2m, and the prescribed camera control unit 2m and the system control unit 1 are cascaded. Video signals from the all the camera control units 2a to 2m are made to reach the unit 1, and also each of the camera control units 2a to 2m and the unit 1 are wired to a common bus 7.
