PURPOSE: A method is provided to prevent an over discharge of a battery by alarming when a residual capacity reaches a state of charge (SOC). CONSTITUTION: The method for preventing an over discharge of a vehicle auxiliary battery comprises the steps of: continuously sensing a residual capacity of the vehicle auxiliary battery at driving to compare the sensed residual capacity with a predetermined limitation value (10); if the residual capacity of the vehicle auxiliary battery is over the predetermined limitation value, repeating the step (10); and alarming if the residual capacity of the vehicle auxiliary battery is below the predetermined limitation value (20).
